Who is affected?
CSAB Special Rounds are for candidates eligible for NIT+ admission through JEE Main 2026 Paper 1, 2A or 2B and the programme-specific rules. This includes eligible candidates who did not register in JoSAA, received no JoSAA seat, or fall within other participation types explained in the brochure. DASA candidates must follow the separate DASA nationality, education, document and fee rules.
Fees and payment preparation
For CSAB Special Rounds, the Special Round Enrolment Fee (SREF) is Rs. 40,000 for GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and Rs. 19,000 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. It includes a non-refundable Rs. 5,000 processing fee. Adjustments may apply to eligible candidates who already paid applicable JoSAA amounts. DASA applicants should use the DASA brochure for the DEF and other fee rules.
Required student action
- Open the official DASA and CSAB Special page.
- Read the updated CSAB Special brochure or the DASA UG brochure, as applicable.
- Check the official activity schedule and programme restrictions before registering.
- Complete fresh registration, upload DASA documents where applicable and pay DEF and/or SREF by August 3 at 10:00 AM.
- Enter genuine programme and institute preferences, review the mock allocation, then save and lock choices by August 5 at 2:00 PM.
- After an allotment, choose the permitted willingness option, pay the required institute fee, upload documents and answer verification queries within the round deadline.
- Check the allotted institute website for physical-reporting dates, originals and balance fee.
What happens if the deadline is missed?
A candidate who does not complete fresh registration and payment by August 3 cannot rely on an earlier JoSAA registration. Failure to complete online reporting after allotment is treated as rejection of the offer and ends eligibility for admission through the 2026 CSAB Special Rounds.
