Required student action: Register on the official CSAB-NEUT portal, upload the required documents and complete choice filling before the respective deadlines. Registration alone does not complete the choice-filling step.

The spot round is conditional and should not be treated as a guaranteed extension. Candidates should complete the current registration and choice-filling stages on time.
Who is affected?
CSAB-NEUT covers eligible candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, as well as Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Ladakh. Seats connected with NERIST are also included in the scheme.
- Engineering and architecture applicants are considered using the applicable JEE Main 2026 rank and scheme rules.
- NATA qualification is required for B.Arch where applicable; candidates must follow the exception stated for CFTIs admitting through JEE Main Paper 2.
- Pharmacy applicants are considered separately using Class 12 performance and the prescribed subject combination.
- State or UT domicile, category and nomination rules still apply. Candidates must check the rules of their admitting authority before registering.
How to register and fill choices
- Open the official CSAB-NEUT 2026 portal and read the current notices.
- Download the official CSAB-NEUT 2026 information brochure and confirm your domicile, course and eligibility route.
- Register using the required examination and personal details. Use an active mobile number and email address.
- Upload clear copies of the domicile, category, Class 10 and Class 12 records and any other documents required for your case.
- Monitor the portal for document-verification queries and respond by July 27 at 5:00 PM.
- Enter and arrange course and institute choices. Save and lock them by July 28 at 5:00 PM.
- After allotment, pay the Rs. 5,000 Seat Acceptance Fee, choose the required willingness option and upload reporting documents within the applicable round window.
- Report to the allotted institute according to the schedule and the institute’s instructions.
What happens if a deadline is missed?
A candidate who does not register, upload documents or complete choices within the specified window may not be considered for seat allotment. Missing online reporting, fee payment or willingness submission after an allotment can also lead to cancellation of the allotted seat under the scheme rules. Do not rely on a possible spot round.
Frequently asked questions
Is CSAB-NEUT the same as CSAB Special counselling?
No. CSAB-NEUT is a separate scheme for specified North-Eastern states, Union Territories and NERIST-related seats. Candidates should use the CSAB-NEUT portal and schedule.
Does registration finish the application?
No. Candidates must also upload documents, resolve verification queries and complete choice filling before the separate deadlines.
Is the August spot round guaranteed?
No. The official schedule states that spot-round activity will be conducted only if required. It is not an extension of the current registration window.
