Overview
The Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is the recognised undergraduate professional degree in homoeopathy. It combines homoeopathic philosophy and materia medica with biomedical sciences, clinical subjects and supervised patient care.
What students study
Training commonly includes anatomy, physiology, pathology, microbiology, forensic medicine, surgery-related subjects, obstetrics and gynaecology, practice of medicine, organon, repertory and homoeopathic materia medica. Clinics, case records and hospital postings are central.
Duration and study options
BHMS is a five-and-a-half-year full-time programme including a one-year compulsory rotating internship under current regulations. Verify NCH recognition, attached hospital, patient exposure, pharmacy, clinical supervision, internship and registration outcome.
Eligibility and admission
Applicants must meet current Class 12 science-subject, marks, age and other conditions for undergraduate AYUSH admission. Admission uses NEET-UG and the relevant AYUSH counselling process under current official notices.
Career and further study
After completing internship and registration, graduates work in recognised homoeopathic practice, hospitals, public services, research, education support and health organisations according to professional rules. Options include MD Homoeopathy specialities, public health, research and healthcare administration.
