Overview
The Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) is an undergraduate business degree combining broad management foundations with analytical and functional electives. It overlaps with BBA and BBM, but universities may structure BMS around different majors, projects or local industry links.
What students study
Common papers include accounting, economics, statistics, marketing, finance, organisational behaviour, human resources, operations, law, strategy and entrepreneurship. Group projects, presentations, research, internships and a final capstone may support specialisation.
Duration and study options
BMS is commonly three or four years. Full-time and recognised distance routes may be available. Compare the exact major, quantitative depth, project supervision, internship support, honours options, intermediate exits and differences from the institution’s BBA.
Eligibility and admission
Applicants generally need Class 12 or equivalent, with mathematics, English, marks or other conditions varying by university. Selection may use CUET-UG, institution or state entrance tests, qualifying marks, interviews and counselling.
Career and further study
Graduates enter marketing, finance support, operations, consulting support, human resources, analytics, sales, entrepreneurship and customer-success roles. Options include MBA and specialised master’s study in management, finance, marketing, analytics or entrepreneurship.
Student checklist
Before applying, compare the syllabus, recognition or regulatory approval where applicable, delivery mode, fees, practical training, entrance requirements and placement support. Always confirm the current rules with the university or admission authority.
Important: Course structures, duration, eligibility and professional recognition can vary by university, specialisation and academic year. Use this overview for planning and verify the latest prospectus before applying.
