Overview
The Bachelor of Statistics (BStat) is a quantitatively intensive undergraduate degree focused on probability, statistical theory, data and mathematical foundations. It differs from a general BSc Statistics by the structure and depth established by the awarding institution.
What students study
Students commonly study calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistical inference, regression, sampling, stochastic processes, computing, optimisation and applications in economics or science. Problem sets, programming, data projects and theoretical proofs all require sustained mathematical work.
Duration and study options
BStat is commonly a three- or four-year full-time programme. Compare mathematical prerequisites, computing languages, data laboratories, research opportunities, internships, honours or exit rules and whether the curriculum balances theory with modern applications.
Eligibility and admission
Applicants generally need Class 12 or equivalent with mathematics and the high subject proficiency or marks conditions specified by the institution. Selection may use an institution entrance examination, CUET-UG where adopted, qualifying marks, interviews or other published routes.

Graduates enter data analysis, statistics, risk, finance, research, government, technology and quantitative consulting. Programming, communication and domain knowledge broaden opportunities.
