What changed for the 2026 cohort?
The official scholarship page now publishes the Round 1 dates for the 2026 cohort and adds Andhra Pradesh and Delhi (NCT) to the eligible regions. The Foundation says applications will be accepted from August 10 through August 31.

Who is eligible?
According to the current eligibility section, an applicant must meet all of these conditions:
- She passed both Class 10 and Class 12 as a regular student at a government school or college in an eligible state or Union Territory.
- She has taken admission in the first year of a regular, recognised undergraduate degree or diploma for 2026-27.
- The programme lasts between two and five years.
- The college or university is a government institution or a credible and bona fide private institution anywhere in India.
- This is her first undergraduate degree or diploma after Class 12.
The eligible schooling regions are Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi (NCT), Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Applicants should recheck the live official region list before applying.
Required student action
Use the period before August 10 to verify eligibility and prepare clear digital copies. The Foundation accepts applications online through its official scholarship website and does not charge an application fee.
- Read the 2026 scholarship page and confirm your government-school history, first-year status, programme duration and eligible region.
- Prepare a recent colour passport photograph and a scanned signature on white paper.
- Scan the front of your Aadhaar card, Class 10 marksheet and Class 12 marksheet clearly and without editing.
- Obtain either a bona fide certificate or admission-fee receipt containing the required college, course, academic-year and issue details.
- Prepare bank proof for an active savings account in a scheduled commercial bank.
- Check every file against the Foundation’s official document guidelines.
- From August 10, use the application option on the official scholarship page, complete every field and upload the required files.
- Submit by August 31, 2026, and save the final acknowledgement or application reference.

The document guide allows PDF, PNG or JPG/JPEG as applicable and requires files to be between 30 KB and 500 KB. Screenshots, blurred copies, cropped or edited documents, password-protected files and unreadable details can fail validation.
For admission proof, a hostel, mess, laboratory or examination-fee receipt is not a substitute for the required bona fide certificate or admission-fee receipt. Review the exact fields in the official PDF before requesting the document from your institution.
Bank-account check
The bank account must be an active savings account in a scheduled commercial bank and support a one-time transaction above ₹10,000. The passbook or accepted account statement must clearly show the applicant’s name, account number, IFSC and branch details. Do not upload a blurred, edited or overwritten copy.
What happens if the deadline is missed?
Round 1 closes on August 31, 2026. A student who does not submit a complete application within the notified window will not have a valid Round 1 application for the 2026 cohort. Missing, unreadable or non-compliant documents can also prevent successful completion, so upload early enough to correct a file before the window closes.
Fraud warning
The Foundation explicitly states that it charges no fee at any stage. Apply only through links reached from the official scholarship website. Do not pay an agent or share sensitive documents through an unofficial message or form.

Can a distance-learning student apply?
The published eligibility requires admission to a regular first-year degree or diploma programme, so distance-learning enrolment does not meet that condition.
Does the applicant have to study in her school state?
No. The Class 10 and 12 government-school condition is tied to an eligible region, while the recognised regular college or university can be anywhere in India.
Is there an application fee?
No. The Foundation states that the scholarship application is free.
